Overcoming Mobility Inequity With New Open-Access Tools for Analyzing Spatial Accessibility
Organization: University of Chicago
Primary Investigator: Anne Dodge
Research Track: Resource and Service Equity
The University of Chicago, the Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC), and the Brookings Institution are creating a new set of indicators to redefine researchers’ and policymakers’ understanding of “spatial mismatch.” Historically, these questions have been considered primarily in terms of jobs and housing; this new suite of indicators will ask bigger questions, partnering with local communities to understand and integrate the full range of ways in which people need to move around their community for a good quality of life.
